Adventure Indoors was privileged to have recently been featured in the House & Home section of the Kansas City Star. This product was specially designed by Kyle Blake as a Christmas gift for his wife, Jessica Blake. The table and benches were crafted of 90 year old Southern Yellow Pine from a Nebraska barn. The top is finished with danish oil to draw out the natural grain and aged patina. The white painted, tapered legs help bring together a rustic – modern mix. All nail holes were filled with a clear epoxy to maintain the ‘nail hole look’ while preventing leaks from the inevitable spill! Thanks, Jill for the great interview and wonderful article!

One benefit of being in our new West Bottoms location is that we have been able to build friendships and collaborate with some of the best craftsman in the city. My building currently has 1 cabinet maker, 1 mill-worker, two furniture makers and one design and build architecture company. Brian Holland is the founder and owner of B Holland & Co. He builds amazing, high end furniture. I don’t think there is anything he can’t do! Recently I was privileged to team up with Brian to craft a piece for my client that simply said, “be creative!” This bar is for a world class hunting resort in Fort Scott, Kansas. We call this bar the beginning of our “mod-ic” series. This is simply the integration of our two passions. Rustic and modern woodworking. Everything is unique and truly one of a kind about this bar. Several highlights are the book matched rails and stiles on the doors revealing old nails buried in the wood for nearly a century. The panels are mill sawn White Oak. We branded the letters ourselves and had a local mirror artisan hand etch the mirror. The project took about a week and a half. “Thanks, Brian for sharing your talents and passion for unique and quality wood working with the next generation! I had a blast!” Check Brian out at http://www.bhollandco.com/

This mantle is 11 foot long and 3 and 1/2 inches thick! It is crafted from reclaimed timbers that were covered with bolts, nails and brackets. The hardware in the timbers left behind some amazing rustic character that can’t be found at any local lumber yard! Any dimensions are possible. We also have 13″ diameter Aspen logs that can be milled down to make another style of mantle.

Adventure Indoors teamed up with B Holland & Co. to custom design and build this bar for a lodge near Fort Scott, Kansas. 95 year old Southern Yellow Pine and White Oak was used on the entire project. We did our best to preserve the natural antique look of the wood. We branded the initials of the lodge on the logs and had a skilled glass artisan hand etch the mirror. We would love to do something similar in your restaurant or finished basement!
